I Don't Want Pet Friends

Pet Friends are a four piece band from Hertfordshire, England, who play guitar based altmathrotic music. Combining sparkling rhythm guitar, idiosyncratic drum beats and lyrics sung from the heart, Pet Friends have crafted a genuinely original sound of their own. Forming in October 2012, the band spent six months practising in a shed, composing and recording, preparing to emerge from their wooden cocoon as a metaphorical moth, ready to munch through the damp towel that is beige indie rock. Their self-produced debut EP ‘I Don’t Want Pet Friends’ did enough to convince BBC Introducing to make them band of the week in March 2013 and since then, the band have played a number of successful gigs throughout Hertfordshire, building on that exposure with a large amount of airplay on University radio and interviews with the local media.
‘I Don’t Want Pet Friends’ is a collection of some of the very first songs the band wrote together and could be seen as laying down a backbone to the style of music that they want to make. Raw and emotional, the atmospheric production tries to capture the intensity with which the band plays. Now working on their next EP, the band are looking forward to a number of shows that they have booked over the next few months.

13th July - Harrow, Trinity Bar
20th July - Watford, The Flag
17th August - St Albans, The Horn
