Pod Fodder (Volume Twenty Eight)

Download Here

1. Black Math Horseman - Origin Of Savagery (Undergroove)
Taken from the new album "Wyllt" which is released in the UK this very month.

2. 1990's - Balthazar (Rough Trade)
"Kicks" is the title of the new album from Glasgows happiest band. It will be released in the UK on 23rd March and is quite frankly great fun. Guaranteed to cheer you up whatever the weather, even if your stuck in a snowdrift on the A38.

3. Hatcham Social - Murder In The Dark (Fierce Panda)

22nd February - London, Sonic Cathedral @ The Old Blue Last
23rd February - London, Sonic Cathedral @ The Old Blue Last

6. Rothko - Give (Trace)
This is a track from the latest release from Rothko. The EP is called "The Longest Distance Between Two Points" and is available through their own Trace record label. It's also limited to just two hundred copies so you might want to put down that cup of tea and get shopping (or you might not in which case put the kettle on again and relax).

7. Drumattic Twins - Don't Be So Drumattic (Finger Lickin)

This is a track from the new Drumattic Twins EP which precedes the new album "Hammer & Tongs" which will appear in the spring.
8. Vidulgi OoyoO - Even Freedom (Fargo)
This is probably my most played record this week. It's an eight track album by the strangly monikered Vidulgi OoyoO who according to their MySpace come from Korea. This album has actually being around for a while but it's not the easiest thing to find. Perhaps I should post the whole damn thing.

9. Wake The President - Miss Tierny (Electric Honey)
I heard this album for the first time just yesterday and what a treat it is. I don't know what goes on up there in Scotland but they just keep on churning out great bands (and snooker players). The album is called "You Can't Change That Boy" and will be released through Electric Honey on 9th March.

6th March - Glasgow, Polloksheilds Burgh Hall (Album launch party)
13th March - London, Twee As Fuck @ Buffalo Bar
16th March - London, Rough Trade (instore show)
20th March - Glasgow, Popmorphic

10. The Snowbyrds - Master Of Ceremonies (Promo)
The Snowbyrds come from Blackburn and beyond that I can tell you very little.

8th March - Brierfield, Sunn Inn
17th March - Manchester, Dry Bar
28th March - Blackburn, Hordens

11. Heritage Centre - Death By Science (Self Released)
One of the best E.P.'s to arrive at Burning World this week is the new six track effort from Dublin's Heritage Centre. It's called "The City, The Tree and The Fox E.P." and will be available from 20th February.

20th February - Dublin, Whelan's (E.P. launch)
26th February - Limerick, Dolans
5th March - Dundalk, The Spirit Store

28th March - Castlebar, Bar Ritz
4th April - Portlaoise, Lethean Bar
28th April - Galway, NUI Galway

12. Asobi Seksu - Familiar Light (Twins Remix) (Download)
This is a remix of the new Asobi Seksu single. Whether or not it's been officially sanctioned I have no idea but it is pretty good. The new album "Hush" is released this week.

16th February - Leeds, Faversham
18th February - Birmingham, Barfly
19th February - London, ICA
20th February - Amsterdam, Paradiso
21st February - Paris, Fleche d'Or
22nd February - Brussels - Rotonde
24th February - Muenster, Gleiss 22

13. The Joy Formidable - The Greatest Light Is The Greatest Shade (Self Released)
This is the first track on their "A Balloon Called Moaning" debut album which if they have found some more copies will be available from sometime around now. I saw them live last week at The Duchess and apart from the set being shorter than some of the support bands they put in a tremendous performance and I'm looking forward to catching up with them again.

17th February - London, Pure Groove Instore (album launch)
19th February - Newcastle, Academy 2
20th February - Preston HED @ Mad Ferret (FREE show)
21st February - Cambridge, Greenmind Birthday Bash @ Portland Arms

28th February - London, The Lexington

14. Calories - Adventuring (Smalltown America)
