August 14th will see Nightmares On Wax return with their new album "Thought So" through Warp records. The Yorkshire band have changed so much over the years and although this album is no "Smokers Delight" it does show that the Nightmares have still got a fair few air miles left in them.

Nightmares On Wax - Bringin It

....and while we're talking of Yorkshire

Nacional - Yorkshire

I'm sure you'll agree that's one of the best tracks of the year thus far taken from the Scottish bands recent single through Art Goes Pop who apparently have a compilation of new Scottish bands on the horizon although it does seem to have been in the pipeline for quite a while now. What are you playing at Justin?

If it's pop you want then you can't go wrong with this lot. The School are from Cardif and have recently signed to that Spanish hotbed of indiepop Elefant Records and have recently released what I think is their second single, a four track ep entitled "Let It Slip" which is quite frankly brill. The band do have a few dates coming up which you can check out on their MYSPACE but since Wales appears to be the closest they come to York I'm not going to bother typing them out. (yes I'm in a bad mood).
