...thank goodness thats over. I've not got anything against Christmas but why does it seem necessary for people who at any other time of year you would avoid like the plague to meet up for social gatherings and all be polite to each other. You know the type, they stand next to you and because they know you listen to a lot of music they assume thet you must be a huge Dire Straits fan and when you tell them that you would rather boil you feet in a vat of acid then listen to that they look at you as though you should be committed. Bastards, I'd shoot the lot of them if only I had a gun. Anyway enough of my ranting, here's another selection of new and recent tunes without which your I-Pod is quite frankly nak

Here you go then, the final selection from me before Christmas. It looks already as though next year is going to be just as good for music as this year has been with new releases scheduled (and in this program) from the likes of Low, Kristin Hersh, Explosions In The Sky, Little Man Tate and Jesu to name but five. I am toying with the idea of putting together a program of all the tunes which have given me the most pleasure this year. I know that it's not exactly an original thing to do but quite frankly...who cares. This isn't a request show but if you have any suggestions for such a program let me know and I'll see what I can do but bear in mind this is all subject to not being too busy between Chrismas and New Year. Talking of which I'm going to be in Exeter on the night of the 27th. Can anyone suggest a decent gig or maybe just the best place for a northerner to get drunk.

1. Benjy Ferree - The Desert (Domino) From the album "Leaving The Nest". I think this is already avaliable in the states but it's out in th UK on 29th January. 2. Low - Always Fade From the forthcoming album "Drums and Guns"
3. Relay - Driver (Bubble Core) From the album "Still Point Of Turning"
4. Johnny & the Moon - When You're All Alone From the seft titled album.
5. Sunset Rubdown - Stadiums & Shrines (Global Symphonic)
From the album "Shut Up I Am Dreaming"
6. Spotlight Kid - Never's Too Soon (Club AC30)
From the exellent album "Departures"
7. Pale Saints - Half Life Remembered (4AD)
From the 1991 EP "Half Life"
8. Kristin Hersh - In Shock (Yep Roc)
From the forthcoming album "Learn to Sing Like A Star". To be released 23rd January
9. Jesu - Conqueror (Hydra Head)
This is the title track from the new album which is released on 19th February.
10. Ali Love - Camera On A Pole
From the album "Ismeretlen"
11. The View - Same Jeans (1965) From the album "Hats Off To The Buskers". Out 23rd January.
12. Camera Obscura - Your Sound
