I really wasn't expecting to like this album at all. I mean, they've been around forever (18 years) and have made a million albums...well nine actually but it seems like a lot more. Usually bands who record a classic debut album (and Mudhoney's "Superfuzz Bigmuff" was one of the great records of the late 1980's) seem to gradually deteriorate album after album until eventually they all sound like Dire Straits. So I was a bit apprehensive about this one. The band have certainly evolved over the years but still retain their trademark thick fuzzed up guitar sound and that unique howling thing which only Mark Arm can do. This might not be the best record Mudhoney have ever made and you won't find a new "Touch Me I'm Sick" on here but it's still one hell of a ride.
"Under A Billion Suns" will be released in th UK on 6th March
